Nomination for 2012 officers will take place at the January meetings. A special election newsletter will go out in January introducing the nominees. Elections will be held in February 2011 at the scheduled meetings or by mail in ballot. New officers start their terms on March 1 and serve through February 28 of the following year. All positions are open for nomination. Officers receive free RMOP membership and free RMOP symposium credits during their terms. Following are the job descriptions.

President - Spokesperson and PR person for RMOP. Visits ophthalmology offices to meet with physicians and staff and promote RMOP. Initiates the planning of symposiums and workshops. Supervises and directs all business and affairs of RMOP.


Education Coordinator - Plans monthly meetings including selection of topics and speakers. Prepares and maintains all applications for JCAHPO and other information necessary for educational credits. Arranges for meals for all meetings.


Secretary/Treasurer - Maintains the RMOP database and attendance records. Compiles and writes the bi-monthly newsletter and any other mailings for RMOP. Prepares reports, minutes and correspondence for RMOP. Maintains the financial records of the organization.

Education Advisor - Meets with persons interested in starting new chapters of RMOP. Teaches how to file paper work and answers questions about coordinating programs.
