Job openings may be advertised in The Eye Witness at a cost of $50.00 per issue. This will cover the cost of advertising in the newsletter and on the website. The fee will be billed to advertisers following the mailing of the newsletter and pertains to nonmember hiring authorities only. Members who would like to place a personal ad may do so at no charge, space permitting. Private parties and organizations wishing to advertise upcoming workshops that are not sponsored by RMOP will be charged a fee of $50.00 per ad. Placement of an ad by RMOP in no way suggest approval or recommendation of the job being advertised by RMOP. Applicants should judge each job on an individual basis.

Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

Our busy ophthalmology practice in Montrose, Colorado has an immediate opening for a motivated and qualified technician/assistant.  We prefer COT certification or COA with the desire and skills necessary to reach the COT level.  The successful candidate will have broad responsibilities in the clinics and in the operating room, will be team oriented, organized, dependable and able to function independently in a fast-paced environment.

Ophthalmic Assistant

Established ophthalmology practice in Boulder seeks individual experienced in eye care billing and collections operations. Responsibilities include follow-up, collection and documentation of all insurance claims and maintaining correspondence with carriers. Responsible for insurance claims preparation and filing, insurance aging, and prior approvals. Also responsible for review and follow-up on all incorrect payments or denials. Requires demonstrable experience in payer reimbursement and coding, monitoring of A/R aging, proper bad debt collection procedures, computer billing systems, and basic accounting.
Individual must have above-average skills in exercising discretion, judgment, and in verbal and written communication. Ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and possess strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Two years of experience in medical office setting required. Previous eye care experience required.
