Debra Forti, COA/COSA was independently nominated for the Technician of the Year award by the several different technicians that have worked with her over the past several years.
Debra has been a member of RMOP for well over 10 years and has worked in ophthalmology since 1982. She will be receiving a $100.00 award and certificate as well as a certificate for her employer's office, Colorado Retina Associates. Following is the information that was received in her nominations:
"Debbie has been a dedicated member of our field for 27 years. She is a dependable staff member and loyal employee, maintaining her certification while continuing to learn new skills. Debbie is the "go to" person in the office to tackle difficult tasks and is admired for her organizational skills. She is direct but fair with her co-workers; focused but caring with her patients. She goes the extra mile which sometimes includes coming in on her days off. When asked what she liked most about her job, Debra replied "working with the patients, that's what keeps me coming back each day."
In addition to her work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her family and is a big fan of the Rockies and Nuggets.
The vote for Technician of the Year took place at the board of directors annual meeting on April 23, 2009
